So I tell Obama to let domestic GM plants fail, and in turn all those automobile jobs go overseas when foreign automakers fill the gap, and limey posts the amount of employees that GM has? What the hell does that have to do with anything?

Rumor has it that Obama stopped several attempted bombings of US targets in the last three weeks...

You won't hear about it in the news because Mr. Obama is a modest man and doesn't want to use fearmongering to rule like the previous administration.

worried about The Dub and Facism...
I am wondering why upon until now, no other person has mentioned what is happening to GM. I heard over the weekend as well as this morning how the Obamar administration has caused the Head of GM to step down. When I first heard of the situation, I was like ‘Huh?’ I thought that General Motors was a private enterprise and in being so, it as an entity makes it own employment decisions. What we are witnessing with this move is clear fascism. I am not the only one who thinks that this is a bad precedent. On top of this outlandishness, Obama had a Wall Street banker do the firing. Now the question becomes, who is running this country? Is it elected officials or Wall Street?

A man named Alexander King wrote a rather fun book a while back - sold well for a while - called "May This House Be Safe From Tigers."

Seems Alexander would always say this upon leaving someone's home. Finally, curious what in the world it was all about, a friend asked him why did he always say that.

He replied "Well, have any tigers bothered you lately?"

I don't think I can trust that Bush's attack on Iraq is why we've been safe so far. I would have been more in his favor had he gone after Bin Ladin.

You remember Bin Ladin, right? Wonder where he went with his twenty two wives, over a hundred kids and his kidney Dialysis machine?

Probably in the middle of the desert in a cave.

Jim, I have a different perspective on why those prices multiplied under The Dub. It had to do with the oil producing nations playing games with the per barrel price of sweet crude. If you would be honest about this, you would have mentioned that after The Dub lifted the ban on U.S. domestic oil exploration and drilling, the price per barrel of sweet crude plummeted.

Dear All,

Published: March 27, 2009

BROOKSVILLE - Blame it on fuel.
Electricity bills in Hernando County are nearly 50 percent higher today than they were 10 years ago.

There are many variables to consider - transportation costs, the rising price of coal, transformer costs, the ever-changing world market - but utility bills have increased and decreased along with gas prices.

"Fuel costs have practically doubled in 10 years," said Progress Energy spokeswoman Suzanne Grant. "We are not allowed to make any profit off of that."

Both she and David Lambert, spokesman for Wilthlacoochee River Electric Cooperative, pointed to the 10-year rise in fuel costs as the culprit for the higher electric bills.

The Dallas Morning News, in an editorial, calls for the dismissal of Dallas police officer Robert Powell, who kept NFL running back Ryan Moats from going inside a hospital to see his dying mother-in-law last week while lecturing Moats, threatening to arrest him and ticketing him for running a red light in his vehicle en route to the emergency room.

The Morning News writes in its editorial: "In a society ruled by law, a sacred contract exists between the police and the people they protect and serve. We grant them extraordinary powers and need them to do their duty to keep the rest of us safe. We also expect them to use those powers wisely. When they abuse power--one or all--they cede authority.

"Judging from the videotape from the officer's car, the young cop--25 years old, with only three years on the job--abused the power of his badge. Yes, Moats violated a traffic law; under the circumstances, who wouldn't? Powell may have been within his rights to sanction Moats, but how he did it was appallingly unjust and cruel."

Cop didn't abuse power. Boo hoo. its your mother in law, who cares. Its not your momma...

If I was the cop I'd say, "OH its only your mother in law, I thought you were rushing to the liquor store to get some champagne..."

'course then I'd be dismissed for being less than human...but I'm a chanberg who are already less than human...

Food has gone up per inflation as it does for every pres, so thats out, why wouldn't it be well documented?

Gas prices went up as production remained steady but construction, agriculture and other fuel related industries grew exponentially here and abroad. GWB personally forced the middle east to produce more fuel and in turn the price of gasoline went down record levels never seen before to the tune of nearly 70%! WOW! Never has a president seen gas prices fall over $2.50 per gallon! What a wonderful time to be alive. Many people I talk to today are always talking about "where were you when gas went under two bucks?" and all.
