Here is the truth: Of the last 52 incidents of what the FBI classifies as Mass Murder that have been done by firearms 51 of them have been carried out in "Gun Free Zones" and in States that have the toughest gun laws in the nation.

So what is the knee jerk reaction of Progressives? We need more gun laws. and\\\And we need to ban certain types of weapons.

Fact, if someone had a single shot .22 caliber rifle or pistol, they could go into any "gun free zone" in the nation be it a school, mall, or movie theater and kill ten, twenty or more people before the police arrived. Being the only one armed in these "gun free zones" any nut can kill that many people with the smallest firearm as it is like shooting ducks in a barrel. So the idiocy of taking self protection out of the hands of citizens and putting it into the hands of government is sheer lunacy. Yet, that is what every freaking Progressive is advocating.

These same Progressives who claim they care about children in general and human life also want zero limitations on abortions. Advocating for the ability to kill a child right up to the time of birth and if per chance the doctor botches the abortion and the baby is alive, advocating that it not receive any treatment and be allowed to die.

The only distortions with the word God that occur in our society is done by Progressives and not by Christians. Progressives are very adept at trying to change the meaning of words and of institutions to suit their agenda. One has only to look at how they are trying to change the Institution of Marriage and how when they read the First Amendment they readily accept that there is a separation of Church and State when it come to the Church but not so much when it come to the State trying to stop the Church from the "free exercise of their religion" and can be easily seen with the HHS Mandate that is trying to dictate how people exercise their religion.

As for Jefferson, you continue to distort his views by selectively taking his quotes out of context. Try for a change taking his whole life into account. Jefferson did not believe in a State run religion and would oppose the efforts of the State interfering with the free exercise of religion which is what Progressives do.

They support phone tapping and domestic spying, torture, locking people up forever without ever charging them with a crime... and then whine about freedoms being taken away because we want to ban combat weapons from the general public?

Angel,you should have gone to an army/navy store and gotten yourself a large alice pack and frame. Then you could have taken 550 cord and tied your sleeping bag off to the outside of your rucksack and been squared away. There is enough space inside of a large alice pack for anything that you needed to pack. For sleeping arrangements,you could have gotten yourself a multipuropose net,two ponchos and two poncho liners and made yourself a suspending sleeping hooch that would keep you warm in subzero temperartures. Anytime you want to do anything outdoors,you're better off with military equipment than civilian,it's usually cheaper but just as effective if not moreso.
