Okay Tony. I am glad I mentioned this because it's always better to talk about things yes? If I need to learn about this - I would imagine you're a good way to do it.

And yes - please DO pray for me - that God doesn't give up on me.

Today is Super Bowl Sunday, and do you know what Christian Youth Groups all over this country are doing today....why they are collecting money to help fund Soup Kitchens where many of them volunteer throughout the year, and they are collecting canned goods to help stock Food Pantries that help to feed the poor throughout the year. Yes Annie, because for them it is not just Super Bowl Sunday, it is SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!
Dear Annie

A church building of any denomination is built primarily as a place of worship and not just for one day a week. Many people go to their church during the week to get away from the hectic trials of daily life and to be able to pray is quiet.

In addition, the church facilities are used for activities such as scouts, religious education for adults as well as children, meeting places for various member organizations that serve both the church and the community. So yeah, you have no idea what your talking about when you say that these buildings should be used to house homeless. They are already used to help the members and the community at large.

In addition, there is no telling of the amount of money that churches spend every year to:

Pay utility bills for the poor
operate food banks
operate clothing drives for the poor
help people with their rent
help people with medical bills and to get their prescriptions

And those are just a few of the services that churches of every denomination provide for the poor. So yes Annie, you have no freaking idea what you are talking about.

Now excuse me while I get ready to go to church and pray for you.
You're damn right I'm not lying and neither am I so misinformed either and another thing you might think about is that I'm NOT only talking about Catholic churches Tony and I'm not talking about just here in NYC. However - for starters - right here in the Eastvillage there are about twenty churches with large, empty basements. WHY couldn't someone live there? And what about this? Nearly every church (and not just Catholic) has another building RIGHT NEXT DOOR for the ministers or priests to live in. WHY do they need an entire building for three or four people to live in?

Are you starting to get my point?

And what about the food pantries in the churches? They are all now being controlled by the welfare department. WHY can't they just feed their own members on their own?

Anyway - there's a new, very big scare going on in the city lately. Thousands of people could lose their homes.

Maybe some of our politicians need to put a stop to the outrageous rents being charged. It's disgusting and it's not justified.

to criticize churches for their perceived lack of effort in helping the poor. It is usually done by those who do not belong to any church, do not know of the good that those churches are doing and yet, sit in judgement of things they have no first hand knowledge of.
I will not tell you your lying, just misinformed because many of the things you think that Churches should be doing...THEY ALREADY ARE AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS and many of the misconceptions you have about gold and finery are just that, misconceptions...there is very little gold in churches and as for housing homeless people, you have no freaking idea of the logistics it would take to safely implement something like that never mind the rules and regulations that government has on such things.

If you really want to help those in need, get the government off the backs of the people. Put the blame where it squarely belongs and not on those that are truly trying to help those poor.
that we call churches - some of them almost like jewelry boxes - so filled with finery and gold etc. Mansions they are - big buildings of marbles and fine woods that SIT EMPTY EXCEPT FOR A FEW HOURS A WEEK.

The basements in these churches alone could house homeless families and people down on their luck. They could host programs that provide free baby sitting for families that need to go look for jobs - have food pantries for their parishoners (not the type controlled by welfare either) clothing drives etc.

Instead - they have nice cars parked in their parking lots while church is going for one hour on Sunday mornings at seven, nine and eleven - after which people can't wait to get in their cars and get OUT OF THERE and back home to eat spaghetti or what have you.

TELL ME I'M LYING.

Its sad really. Only a psycho would root for someone like romney who hates the poor, enjoys firing people and constantly lies. Obama is the best president the US had had since JFK.
Oh Tony, I love ya darlin' - I really do, but you just amaze me sometimes.

The things you say about the Dumbocrats etc - although most of it is true - what you don't ever see it that IT'S TRUE FOR THE GOP ALSO.

They're all the same - these politicians - they're people and bonkers.

We're not capable of rising above our imperfections. It's just not something that is possible. It's also not fair to expect us to constantly be correct in the face of the insanities and pressures of life on this planet.

I mean are you serious? I'm sitting here typing this emails fully aware of the fact that at any second - any second at all, the block could explode from a gas line leak, the building could burn down, a plane could crash into my apartment, a tidal wave could put half NYC under water - etc.

Oh, and let us not forget that each and every one of us could just drop dead at any second for no reason, with no warning or explanation.
Ahem, Some people don't

believe it is raining unless someone on TV tell them that it is. It don't matter if all they have to do is look out the window or go out the door and get wet.

These same type people also believe that Obama is a good President mainly because they watch the Main Stream Media on TV and they say so. Examples of how they never use their common sense abound, especially today.

1. Nasdaq at highest level in 11 years...well when you take into account that the inflation rate for the past 11 years is 30% then it is still about 29% lower than it was 11 years ago.

2. Unemployment down to 8.3%...well, in the same report from the government, it says that 2.7 million less people are working today than a month ago. And, that only 62% of the workforce is employed. There are less people working now than 40 years ago and the population is at least 15% larger.

So....if you count all the people that have given up on finding a job and all the people that were working when Obama took office and count them (which BTW Obama is not counting them) then the unemployment rate is around 18%

But then, only people that actually think on their own and notice when it rains would know that.

Nephew Gobo, you have just been schooled in the area of common sense.

"...Nasdaq is up the highest on 11 years..."

11 years ago GWB was in office.

That means it took GWB all of less than one month in office to get it this high, and it's taken over 3 years for Obama to get it to the level GWB had it in less than a month.

Well, I can't provide you with the time or the date but I am very certain you expressed more than once that you found it not appealing (to put it mildly).
It was a while back - Ld was still posting at the time.
So let me get this straight. Did I somehow get the wrong impression?

Women Need to Learn Trust

There comes a time when a woman just has to trust her husband... for example...

A wife comes home late at night and quietly opens the door to her bedroom. From under the blanket she sees four legs instead of two.
She reaches for a baseball bat and starts hitting the blanket as hard as she can.

Once she's done, she goes to the kitchen to have a drink. As she enters, she sees her husband there, reading a magazine.

"Hi Darling", he says, "Your parents have come to visit us, so I let them stay in our bedroom. Did you say hello?” :sweep

I realize you just randomly post stuff without understanding what it is.....

Clinical breast exams take about 1 minute and it is only part of the yearly 'female' checkup a woman has.

So the $4 is a small part of the entire exam the woman receives.

If someone at Planned Parenthood was only doing clinical breast exams they could see at least 12 women per hour.

That person would be making $48.00 per hour. 12 times $4.

"...Planned Parenthood affiliates received about $680,000 per year from the Susan G. Komen Foundation and provided about 170,000 clinical breast exams and 6,400 mammogram referrals through those funds, mainly to low-income and minority women..."

$680k divided by 170k is $4 per exam.

Good afternoon.

I just read your last post to TGS and wondered if you had seen the latest study....

Recently, Conservatives have been getting slammed in the “Studies No One Asked For Performed By Random Entities” category.

Don’t worry though, because there’s a new study out in which you came out on top! Republicans have more orgasms than people of any other political party.

What else did we learn from this incredibly scientific survey?

Liberal Democrats are more likely to search for someone with a sense of humor and a sense of independence.

Conservative Republicans are more likely to search for someone with the same background and political party as their own.

Geddoudaheah - he is a cutie pie and he's not too bad at singing either. Of course, that's from when he was a bit younger.

He reminds me a tiny bit of the guy who played in a Bronx Story who's in prison now (and just got in trouble for being nasty to other prisoners). He was cute in that movie.

Anyway, Nick Kamen is cute Jenster and if you can't see it, it's because you're drunk on fucking Nyquil and you've got your diaper on upside down, you stupid Queen.

And you too Ex - ya conceited lug ya.
(I'd love to see some photos of you back in the day).

Speaking of photos and people changing - did you see that guy who killed my cousin Carl? What a change in his face. Life sometimes shows on your face - scars you up right good etc.

I read the part where the arresting officers said that "All the life when out of his face."

Yeah - like my cousin Carl's face when you were stealing his life from him - beating him on the head with a shovel and choking him from behind while your brave friend steered the car.

Enjoy the rest of your life mo fo.
